I never had any intention to become a landscape photographer. I still wouldn’t really feel comfortable selling myself as one. I like making photographs of many subjects but I do see a particularity spectacular beauty in the natural landscape. I also enjoy being outside in the countryside and feel far more at home than on the streets of a busy city.
Landscape photography is slower and more contemplative. I can relax and take my time to a certain extent. Chasing moments of light or weather can require the need to work quickly but in general I work at a slow and considered pace.
